Our Business Background

Background

In the dawn of the new millennium, Mr. Z Swuhana established his first business, TOUGH CONSTRUCTION. From inception Mr. Swuhana had a goal of contributing to the Local economy hence he started off by employing 5 young artisans.

His business was established with the main aim of creating opportunities for young people who found it hard to be absorbed in the industry by established big corporates, while also creating a company that will exploit public sector. The focus was then on local and provincial levels, though it later happened that efforts were made to secure contracts anywhere in the country.

It happened with the passing of time that the company grew from strength to strength, acquiring major contracts and created more job opportunities for professionals, labourers and artisans. Over a decade, Tough Construction has emerged as one of the most respected general contracting firms in Limpopo.

We have proven our ability to take on large and complex projects and complete them on time, on budget and the highest level of quality. We are committed to our clients, our employees, and our industry. Our competent staff has been the key to our clients’ relationship and our exceptional service. It is through this strength that in over a decade of existence, Tough Construction acquired and undertook some major contracts from the national Department of Public Works, local and district municipalities in Limpopo and Eskom.

We are one of Eskom’s reliable and preferred accredited service providers. Since 2002 Eskom gave us an electricity tender worth R 1, 4 million which has over years to date been increased to over R 5 million a year, on renewable annual contracts.
